From a few birds to a thriving farm
The Silver Hen Farm began in 2018 with the purchase of just a few Lavender Orpingtons. What started as a small flock quickly blossomed into an unexpected love for poultry and, specifically, the Orpington breed. Over the years, we've expanded our color varieties, but we've intentionally kept our farm small. This allows us to focus on quality, vigor, and our ongoing passion for breeding exceptional birds. For eight years now, we have proudly offered chicks in the spring and grow-outs in the summer and fall.

Behind The Silver Hen Farm are Shannon and Terrell, both retired and sharing a deep love for animals and the great outdoors. Living on a small homestead, we strive to maintain a simple yet fulfilling life. Our dedication to our birds and our passion for breeding are at the heart of everything we do. We believe in sustainable practices and nurturing a welcoming environment for both our animals and our customers.
Our commitment to excellence
At The Silver Hen Farm, our animals always come first. Maintaining a clean and healthy environment is paramount, ensuring we have very healthy birds. We have been NPIP participants for over six years and proudly maintain a closed flock to uphold biosecurity. We are dedicated to building strong customer relationships, which is why we are fortunate to see repeat customers year after year. Our focus is always on the welfare of our chickens and the quality of our offerings.
